Quick start
Sensor development
As a starting point I have followed this instructable of building a seismic sensor.
At the very first, you'll need something to read a sensor.
Therefor I have started with an Arduino and it's analog inputs.
Using a raspberry pi with RC time to read an analog sensor is another way of reading data:
The circuit consists of a MEAS spec piezo film sensor, which is acting as my vibration sensor, and an amplifier IC to amplify the sensors output.
The very first vibration sensor on a breadboard:
The second prototype soldered on a protoboard:
My third prototype as shown in the Work in progress show 1 / 2013 at the Royal College of Art, London:
Geophones
Has anybody experience with using geophones to sense vibrations?
